2025 May 10 - News Summary

There's a new Pope and it seems the Trump Tariffs are so effective that even the pope is made in America. This came after 4 rounds of voting although at one point CNN wondered if Joe Biden might get elected to the role after a massive surge of votes mysteriously arrived at 1am.
There's a war brewing between India & Pakistan and this time it's not even about who owes who what money for match fixing in the cricket. Regardless of who is to blame though, the fighting will inevitably be put down to President Trump, and the potential nuclear winter will be attributed to climate change. I'll probably leave this story for another week and see if anything comes of it, hopefully it'll cool down a bit, unlike the jalfrezi from my local place which remains a fiery inferno even after 2 days in the fridge. Plus I also used up most of my best lines in the drawing this week.
And in the US a number of activist judges remain convinced that deportation is wrong or new under president Trump. Just for the record, the Clinton administration made 12.3m deportations, Bush 10.3m, Obama deported 5.3m people and none of them were stopped from doing so, whereas Trump has so far deported 100k people and faces 30 ongoing injunctions by activist judges, including one who was eventually arrested by the FBI for helping foreign criminals to escape the courthouse and flee. It makes you wonder what would have happened if Lincoln's attempts to free the slaves had been overturned by a smalltime district judge in Virginia. At this stage I honestly think Donald Trump should just say that he thinks judges are great and recommend being a judge as a job, simply to watch the left wing judiciary all resign purely out spite. It's reminiscent of that scene in the Simpsons when Lionel Hutz shudders after saying, "Can you imagine a world without lawyers?"
